We purchased the boy and girl versions; my 6 year old son will be Steve, 3 year old daughter will be Terri. The costumes are REALLY well made, nice, heavy fabric and finished well. The belt is cute but very flimsy and won't stay on. The monkey is darling and adds to the zoo keeper or safari theme nicely. Unfortunately the hat is cheap foam and after being folded up with the outfit looks terrible. Finally, they run really small. Both fit well "around", with room to spare. The size 4-6 is far too short for my size 5 son, the pants hit him right below the knee! The sleeves are way too short as well, I will have to alter both to become short sleeves/shorts. The 4-6 girls outfit is roomy but very reasonable on my size 3 daughter as long as i cinch the skirt with a safety pin. Considering my fairly petite kids there is no way an average 5 year old or... Not sure if this was just my one specifically or if they're all like that. Overall its a nice costume but not really worth the money. You'd be better off buying a khaki coloured safari style dress, accessorising with any belt and using one of your child's cuddly toys as the animal. |
